The wellness center of the Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I – Business & City Resort, The Royal Fitnessobtained the qualification of “Leading Spa of the World 2007” for the third year running.

As the world's foremost authority for grading and inspecting hotels, The Leading Hotels of the World, Ltd. established the Leading Spas designation as the benchmark for global luxury standards in the spa and hospitality industries.

To achieve this prestigious certification, a hotel's spa facilities and services must pass a rigorous inspection process that encompasses more than 200 criteria.

The following supervised activities have been recently incorporated into our center:

The Batuka is a dance which could be defined as a new discipline created by Latin dance experts and sports medicine. It is a kind of gymnastics that works out the muscles of the body while dancing to the rhythm of cumbia, meringue, salsa, house, etc.

The Karanas is based on dynamic exercises that are connected, carried out with respiratory coordination and destined to strengthen and soften the body. The activity is carried out with musical support and available for all types of public and levels of physical conditions.

According to the current Spanish legal framework established by the “Law 28/2005, 26 th of December, relating to sanitary conditions concerning nicotine positioning and regulating the sales, supply, consumption and advertising of tobacco products” and specifically, in application of the article number 8 of the mentioned law, smoking is forbidden in the following property areas of Barcelona Project's, S.A.

1. Hall, venues and corridors of the Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I.
2. Rooms and floors of the Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I, except smoking floors, which are properly indicated and entitled to smoke.
3. Bars and restaurants of the whole complex, except the smoking area.
4. Facilities of the Catalonia Palace of Congresses.
5. Facilities of the wellness center The Royal Fitness.
